Another Manson Book: "Eyes Wide Open" UPDATED

"With nine thrillers to his name — including five No. 1 bestsellers with James Patterson — Purchase's Andrew Gross is a master at crafting riveting reads.
But with his latest novel, "Eyes Wide Open," released today by Harper Collins, Gross ventures into new territory. It's a departure from his popular Ty Hauck series and, for the first time, he creates an intricate tale by drawing upon two real-life events: the death of his troubled young nephew and a chilling encounter more than 40 years ago with Charles Manson."

He met CM through his brother at 12 yrs old. He lived at Spahn's for a year after the fact? His dad thought hee was the intended target? Doesn't add up. Anybody ever hear of him, or is it bullshit?

Sounds like bullshit to me. "Meatloaf" once gave an interview
where he claims to have once picked up Manson. I didn't believe him either.

Patty has updated the post with a link to a .pdf with more details from the author. It was his brother Michael who he says lived at the ranch for a year. He also says that Michael left Spahn during the summer of '68, or "almost a year" before the murders.

Eh, Who knows?

I don't know what to make of this story but I did email the author after reading an article about the book. Below is what he told me..

Sharp eye dude. It was '68, and I was born in 52. I kinda tell it they way I wrote it in the book, cause I wanted my character younger. Caught me.

Perhaps I could ask you a few questions via email. I did notice something though. The article said you met Manson when you were 12. I see on Wikipedia you were born in '52. One of these has to be wrong because Manson was still in Federal prison until 1967 and the family wasn't living on Spahn's until May of '68. Are you sure you weren't 16?

Ah! Artistic license. Thank you Cielo for the clarification.

Why would he lie? I'm taking anything he says with many grains of salt.
