Charles Manson.... A Tea Party Favorite???

Charles Manson and Michele Bachmann.  A brother from a different mother or a sister from a different mister?

I received a Google alert with the Tea Party's adoption of Charles Manson in the subject line.  I thought WTF? I've gotta click on this!  Seems this was basically an ad for a t-shirt.

I wanted to know more.  Why was anyone attempting to link Manson and the Tea Party?  On the surface they appear to be at opposite ends of the spectrum.  I found an amusing article comparing Michele Bachmann's eyes to Charles Manson's eyes.  Both have that bat-shit crazy look in their eyes on a magazine cover.  THERE

I feel I must point out that Pelosi, Hillary, DWS, and indeed FLOTUS herself are all capable of exhibiting that same batsh#t-crazy look.

But I don't understand the Tea Party t-shirt. What is the thinking behind that? I do follow US politics as closely as I can, but the logic of that escapes me; can someone out there in the lost colony illuminate me? ;)

I think it's a shirt that a person who is against the Tea Party might wear as a joke, as if to call Tea Party people crazy or dangerous or evil.

MICHAEL: "Lost Colony" ??? Not LOST anymore - WE can now chose between YING and YANG.

AND if YING turns out BAD, (and most do) we just chose YANG the next time. Where does it get any better than that ?

Yes! But Newsweek will never have their "crazy" pictures on its cover. And the Tea Party t-shirt was obviously the idea of a Democrat, not a tea party member.

Oh ok, I get it. It really is that simple. How profoundly unimaginative.

Robert - my 'lost colonies' comment was tongue-in-cheek, born out of genuine envy and admiration, believe me.

Robert, the problem seems to be that in order to balance the world's Yangs, you keep arming the world's Yings, the problem being that the Yings are only marginally lesser an enemy than the Yangs.

In the UK we no longer believe anything, so we have neither Yings nor Yangs. We have our heads in the sand, sleepwalking towards cultural extinction, and we fool ourselves that this is 'tolerance' or social 'maturity', that cultural suicide is the badge of our superior morality. Ugh. I despise this country. You guys did the best thing ever breaking free. Don't go too far towards the European way, we're a sinking ship my friends.

Hey Michael, very well put. I would say it's going to happen all over the western world, but as usual, begins in Europe. Then it's the "old colonies" and later 3rd world countries.

DebS - I imagine when you saw that Bachmann look you instantly thought of CM - that look!!! hahaha
