The Mystery of Spahn Ranch - Part 1

  1. Was this video done by that "Allegra Lansing" person? I'm familiar with her work and I have to say I don't hold it in high regard.

  2. Oh lord, why bother with this podcaster here? She puts out such garbage. Have you read her book? It's ridiculous. Manson and the three girls were sentenced to die in the electric chair, according to Ms. Lansing early in the book. Things go downhill from there. This "mystery man" was proven to be a hoax quite a while back and I recall an apology video from the vlogger. Waste of time.

  3. All of the negatives about the interview may be true (I don't know), but the content of the interview--the responses--seemed genuine and authentic.

Can anyone point to anything in the responses that seems either synthesized or otherwise non-authentic?

    2. E.g, does anyone know about the physical description of the "outlaw shacks" and their location? I've never heard of them--but I've never looked at Spahn very much, just the route from thereto Cielo & back.

    3. Tex was relegated to those shacks and longed to be called up to the big house for the real orgies.

  4. Ed Sanders mentions the outlaw shacks six times in my Kindle edition of "The Family" . Ed doesn't tell where he got enough of his information to suit me, but still, I found the book to be very entertaining. ooo-eee-ooo

  5. Well, so far no specific criticisms of factual inaccuracies.

Drifting a bit, it recently occurred to me that of all of the colorful anecdotes a

  8. Ed Sanders mentions the dogs being allowed to eat before the women twice.

  9. One thing I was wondering was why Mr. X was remaining anonymous in the interview while revealing what I guess were the names of the others who lived with him there, one being his wife or at least the mother of his child.
The other question that occurred to me was whether or not Sadie's child was in fact in a hospital in Ventura.
And could his modified bread truck have been the same as the one Charlie was driving around, if in fact he's telling the truth?
I wasn't clear on whether he was saying he had intimate relations with Lynn or just hung out with her.
Based on the things he says in the one video (part 1) it's hard for me to form an opinion on his authenticity.
I thought there might have been a post about the people who lived in the outlaw shacks or some other part of the ranch.

  10. Another comment: He said he was a Monterey Pop Festival in June 67. Looking at Wikipedia list of all the acts who performed there, only three or four acts were smaller named acts and none of them came from the L.A. area. Wasn't sure if he was just a spectator, because he mentioned it in conjunction with his band experience.

  11. And somewhere I read about another group of hippies who lived on the ranch that at some point Charlie decided they should run off the place.

  13. Searching for Spahn Ranch dogs took.me to Snake's book which mentioned Ruth Ann, this got me wondering whether she resembled her mother. No photo of her turned up.

    Thanks for the link.
Would someone please identify the dominant male and female singers.

  16. No takers on the singers.
My guess would be Clem and Gipsy and I'm not at all sure of that.

  17. This has nothing to do with this particler thread. But maybe you know about maybe you don’t. On the radio they had a segment of a podcast called “ our American story”
I find many of them interesting and today I heard one on the subject of Jay Sebring . I found this one with more info about him then I had known before. This is the link to it
