Mark Lindsay's Secret Cielo Drive Collection Exposed

  1. Some years ago I found this story:

    https://sensationalsharontate.blogspot.com/2009/07/sharons-friend-actress-ingrid-pitt.html?m=1

Actress Ingrid Pitt claimed to have spent some days on Cielo Drive with Sharon, but her story has some inconsistencies. Do you believe it?

  2. I would vote thumbs down on virtually EVERY claim by Hollywood film & music industry people who claimed, in the days, weeks, months, years, and decades following the "Tate Murders", that they'd been invited to the alleged house party on August 8th. The same goes for most claims of "hanging out with Sharon" prior to the murders.

  3. Ooh! Let's compile a list of everyone who claimed to have been invited to Cielo that night! With links to sources, please. Where is Starviego, this is a perfect prompt for him.

  7. I WAS there. I dropped Billy off with his TV dinner and sold him some weed. I tried to sell him some headphones but he said he liked to hear the soft ambient sounds around him while listening to music.

As I was leaving I passed Elvis, Bette Davis, Buzz Aldrin and Mister Ed the Talking Horse at the gate. I knew it was going to be a hell of a party that night.

-Mary Brunner (was probably going to be picked to drive the Johnny Swartz Deathmobile to Cielo, but was tossed in jail hours earlier for shoplifting)

  9. @gorodish......where did you read or hear or see that brunner claimed she'd visited Cielo Drive prior to the TLB murders?

  10. I can't remember but was it ever wondered out loud if Jane Fonda was ANOTHER who might have been invited to Cielo that night? I do remember that she was at one time considered for Mia Farrow's role in "Rosemary's Baby" and that her and Sharon met/interacted so I wondered if in that halcyon era where people would just drop in and hang whether Jane was one of the many people who gave it a swerve.

  11. I'm friends with an ex of Scott Michaels here in London (no, it isnt Graham, he's a "civilian") and every time someone mentions "Six Degrees Of Helter Skelter" I can't help but immediately think I'm "Two Degrees From Scott Michaels".

  12. Mr. Paul,
You seem to know your way around the Spanish language media. Have you ever heard of a cheap fanzine published in Barcelona, Spain during that time called "Estrellas de Telenovela y Cine" or something like that? It may have been part of the Axel Springer publishing conglomerate. The reason I asked is that I once came across a reference to this as being the very first media source that linked Charles Manson to the murder of Sharon Tate.

    1. Hello Starviego. Sorry but I've never heard of that magazine. I think the first media to link Manson and Sharon was Los Angeles Times on December 1969 after the police announcement. Also Los Angeles Times published coincidentally months before the police discovered that Manson was linked to the murderd, on August 17, 1969, the raid on Spahn ranch and the Tate and LaBianca murders on the same page: https://scontent-mad1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/39401703_2143253955687114_9082976677004312576_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=in0hn7SxpesQ7kNvwGP20eo&_nc_oc=Adm91MVOZadZRUvH1upPIM8Il3GhiCaRtK7PVlPvCw24Tis6nRmIz7GInjWgmotL-n4&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-mad1-1.xx&_nc_gid=zg9IwZKOqCHUeQogPcUqdA&oh=00_AfrXqTFSVSnFiSukmMoWBHxuN-9nCZVN9WRcm9hne791VQ&oe=699BE3E6

  13. Okay here's a funny twist: According to this blurb this actor learned of the murders ON THE WAY to the party:
Amid obituations and tributes to the late acting great Louis Gossett Jr. this week, there was this eerie piece of trivia: In his autobiography, An Actor And A Gentlemen, Gossett said he was on his way to a party at Sharon Tate's Benedict Canyon home back in August 1969 when he learned she and several of her friends had been murdered by the Manson Family.

    1. Sounds a bit iffy. Who would have had that info and how would they have conveyed it? Does Mr Gossett expand at all?

  14. Milly I can't find the actual quote from the book as I'm only seeing a limited preview online. I was quoting from a short article about him and I think the person writing the article must have limited knowledge of the murders because nobody knew about the killings until the next day. If I can find the text I'll let you know. As far as celebrities saying they were invited there that night who knows if some of them were lying or misremembering later.

  15. @humphrat....I can virtually guarantee you that 99% of these people were lying. Everybody in the industry wanted to jump on this bandwagon and have the general public believe they "dodged a bullet".

  16. Sergio Leone and screenwriter Luciano Vincenzoni but Vincenzoni who would have been Leone's interpreter at the party accepted an invitation from a producer to spend the weekend in San Francisco (from Western All Italiana Blogspot)

“There was a party at the house the night of the killings,” Tarlow said.
    [Barry Tarlow was Garretson's lawyer]

Where did Tarlow get this? The implication is that Garretson told him that, and Garretson would have been in a position to know.

  18. Garretson was mistaken. If there had been a party that evening, many more than five people would have been found dead the following morning (including several celebrities besides Sharon and Abigail). End of story.

  19. If there had been a party with anything like a significant number of people (say double figures) Watson & co would’ve either (a) called it off and slunk away or (b) been overpowered/overwhelmed by the shear numbers. Whether they might’ve carried on and tried to kill regardless is debatable but they wouldn’t have been driving off into the night giggling about it that’s for sure. I often do wonder if they did in fact have some kind of intel as to how many would be at Cielo that night. Watson at least would want to know it was a number that he could suppress. I mean imagine had they walked into a party with dozens there - what then??
