  2. I just read that Gay Talese article on Spahn Ranch. " [George Spahn] was particularly fascinated by Manson's girls. They would do anything that Manson asked, anything, and their submissiveness was in sharp contrast to all the women Spahn had ever known, beginning with his stern mother... and the independent woman who was Ruby Pearl. Manson's girls, intellectually superior to all the women that George had known, were also more domestic: they liked to cook, to clean, to sew, to make love to Manson or to whomever he designated.

  5. Speaking of Esquire Magazine, on the day John Lennon was murdered, the then current issue of Esquire did a cover story on Lennon, slamming him for his investments in lucrative tax shelters. Talk about bad timing.
