However, it could be that he has tried to minimize his role in Shorty's death, and felt that giving up information on the burial spot would look like he was much more complicit.

I also note that BD tried to distance himself from the Family, presumably to help his bid for freedom, by returning their letters. However, he continued to have a close friendship inside the prison with Tex who was the worst of the lot of them, so how does he reconcile that? He ran a ministry with Tex and even had him as his Best Man (I bet Tex gave Bruce some kitchen knives as a wedding present!), yet he rebuffed Charlie who didn't murder anyone over the two nights.

I burst out laughing when I read that Bill Nelson stalked Bruce's wife, and put it about that the wife was carrying on with the assistant DA. That's one way to get past the Parole Board.

It is a great pity that the death of Zero was not properly investigated by LAPD because I think Bruce was responsible for that. He didn't wipe all his prints off the gun.

Brett's research being made available has been a real treat!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8171370990642927748.post-19484127699559262132015-05-27T19:21:19.839-04:002015-05-27T19:21:19.839-04:00As to Holt;

As soon as he opens his mouth and starts arguing with people, labeling the victim a drug dealer, then saying what a bad ass artist he is, it tends to piss the parole board off. Bruce sounds like he used to be a little arrogant, but has chilled out since. What I don't understand is why he never told the authorities where Shorty was buried. He might not have known the exact spot, but he knew the vicinity. All those people knew, including a lot of the girls. Gypsy could of even been there when Shorty was killed, because she helped get rid of evidence. The whole thing was sickening. Didn't PS promise Tom O'Neill that he (PS) would get him access to the tapes because without O'Neill, LAPD and LADA would not have known about the tapes' existence? In the end, O'Neill continued to pursue PS, but never got near the tapes. You could argue that it was a promise PS should never have made.

Sequeira seems to be vicious to them all - he made mincemeat of Bobby B. He is probably an ambitious career prosecutor trying to make a name for himself.

Like you, I can't see the relevance of the time of Shorty's death, nor can I understand why Hoyt continues to turn up. Didn't he finally get removed from being the DA's office representative? Another thing I wonder about is Barbara Hoyt. Who, if anyone did she hear screaming that night? Why would she have been sleeping in one of the trailers by herself? Didn't they all sleep together? Didn't Ruby Pearl see the "Manson guys" surround Shorty right before she left in the evening to go home? Does it really matter what time Shorty was killed? Why has that been such a big factor? William Burroughs was addicted to opiates his entire life and lived into his 80s. He is an exception, but heroin (like most opiates) is remarkably safe if it is clinically pure and (duh) not taken in overdose- it causes no organ damage (alcohol causes plenty). The big dangers from opiate addiction are:
-Use escalating due to tolerance (needing more & more to get high)- this increases chances of overdose
-Lifestyle deteriorating as the person's personality and behaviours become drug-centric (exercising & eating less, eating crap, spending money on dope rather than food, rent). This can lead to serious physical & psychological health issues long-term.
-Depression as a result of guilt/changes in neurochemistry, leading to suicide.

Point is, someone can appear perfectly normal to everyone around them and still be an opiate addict. It is not like being addicted to meth, or LSD. I admitted to someone here recently that I was addicted to hallucinogens for years and it was absolutely devastating, it was impossible for me to be functional in any capacity while permanently tripping. The one thing I took away from that time of my life is that Timothy Leary is a fucking idiot.
What I did not admit is that a couple years back I slipped into old behaviours & currently have dependency issues (code for "I am an addict") with mild opiates. I also have tertiary qualifications, hold down two public service jobs, eat healthily & exercise regularly (although less than before addiction), and nobody 'knows'- anyone who 'knows' I have problems in my life just thinks they are general 'mental health issues'. Despite my 'mental health issues' I am not disconnected from reality, though, I know my use is detrimental & am doing everything I can atm to quit. This isn't an apologia for opiate addiction.

The point of this incessant narcissistic droning about my life-story is that there's likely no conspiracy here, a man or woman is capable of appearing 'normal' and functional while still being addicted to opiates. Opiates lure people in with the promise of Heaven (as Robert said), and then they kill them (yes, I see the Manson connection- I would also say that "addiction to Manson" gave his followers a great buzz & helped cloud their minds to reality & their own deep-rooted problems for a long time... the same way born-again Christianity is doing now). Opiates are fucking awful drugs. Stay away from them. But they're not necessarily an indicator of conspiracy... the hidden story to Bret's life is probably one of someone with problems seeking their answer in a needle or a pill. I would be surprised if it's anything more than that, and as we're all just speculating discussing his death in this fashion is probably in bad taste (said the person who just wrote three paragraphs on it).Guida Diehlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881861444442344243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8171370990642927748.post-70575277404984252742015-05-26T13:13:08.768-04:002015-05-26T13:13:08.768-04:00PS- you have to move 90% of this shit off the fron...PS- you have to move 90% of this shit off the front page somehow- it destroys the flow big timeColScotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04198505620789173534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8171370990642927748.post-39781012894313554712015-05-26T13:12:20.334-04:002015-05-26T13:12:20.334-04:00Brett wasn't "suicided" thanks for t...Brett wasn't "suicided" thanks for the glib heartless needless comment Robert.
