  1. off topic, but....
Liz needs to call Oprah. Why? Oprah's network it tanking. A surefire ratings winner to fix things - get the broadcast rights for the trial of Tex Watson for the murder of Shorty Shea.
Tex was never tried. There is no statute of limitations on murder. Imagine Tex on trail again for his life, the death penalty could be applied (?).
And imagine the witness list - Charlie of course, but Grogan and Pitman and Fromme and Morehouse and Donkey Dan and the Bug and all the others. Everyone who read Helter Skelter would tune in.

The Manson sites are fun, especially this one. You gotta love the Col and his obsessive hatred of the Bug and HS. And you gotta love all the theories and speculations - the great Saint and his conviction that it all starts with Mama Cass is a trip and a half. And folk like AC and her never ending quest to get Manson a Nobel Peace prize. And of course the EvilOne and her great sleuthing and her faithful sidekick Reasonalbe Matt.

But if there is any hope for TBL clarification it will probably not come from these sites or another book.
You gotta get Charlie on the stand and try and paint him into a corner. And get the others to see if their recollections are now different from the nonsense they spewed back in the days.
IT'S A RATINGS GUARENTEE OPRAH. MAKE IT HAPPEN. USE YOUR INFLUENCE, FIND A HUNGRY YOUNG D.A. INTENT ON FAME AND FORTUNE. THAT SHOULD'T BE TO HARD.
there's gotta be a young Bug out in Cal somewhere.

  3. I sort of ran out of time, so I'll have to update it in a bit. Left out the bit about Como's escapes, the robbery of the beer distributor and the update on my source from HPD.

Still trying to figure out how Como gets involved with the family. Did he know them before he went to Folsom? I know Sandy helped him escape from the Hall of Justice in October of '71. But who helped him originally escape on July 23rd of that year, when he was brought down from Folsom to testify in the Hinman-Shea trial? Did he ever end up testifying in that trial after he was arrested at the Western Surplus store? Or was the whole point in calling him, just to get him out of prison?

In one of those archived articles, Como has Mary Brunner's attorney request the judge perform a marriage ceremony for Como and Gypsy. According to the lawyer,  Como told him he'd marry Brunner if Gypsy doesn't want to marry him. Pretty odd stuff

  4. Odd to have a choice of brides, but not that crazy for them. They all seemed to marry within the group. It doesn't seem like being selective was a huge issue for them.

I asked the same question in another group and was told that they were Dennis's kids. I've read that at least one was active in Dennis's ministry but haven't found any adult pictures. I'd like to see how they turned out.
