This chronicles The Bug's harassment of his former milkman and his family as VB felt that said milkman might have been the father of his child. It goes on to document his alleged assault and battery on his mistress - supposedly because she refused to get an abortion.

I have never been a fan of his and if you read his book "And the sea will tell" it is obvious to me he helped a woman escape a murder conviction. Some prosecutor.

ReplyDeleteI read that book also Heidi S, and was flummoxed at the very premise. Four people go into a remote island, and two come out with the other’s yacht, and we’re supposed to believe one is innocent. My suspension of disbelief was stretched to breaking.
ReplyDeleteSo if you go someplace remote and end up murdered, but two people are discovered with your boat, money and all the other contents and acting like it is theirs; people will be confused as to what happened.
So at least we have that going for us. Good times.
It was a much faster read than 147 pages would suggest. Thank you. Really good insight into the BUG.

ReplyDeleteCarolMR, I am aware of that. But my point is prosecutors usually take jobs for much less money in the pursuit of justice, keeping the bad guys in jail rather than helping them stay out to commit more crimes. So when they quit and become defense attorneys it disappoints me and the case from "and the sea will tell" disgusted me to the core. Bug seemed so self righteous in the Manson case but then he later helped a woman escape justice in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteSomeone just relayed to me that at the time, an LA Times reporter was sent to Mr. Buliosi to interview him about the Milkman. After meeting Mr. B, he soon returned to the Times office and told his editor the guy (Mr. B) is just crazy and wrote nothing.
ReplyDeleteI see your point, Jason. But I honestly thought a lot of prosecutors eventually became defense attorneys because they made so little money as prosecutors.

In my opinion The Bug went way overboard in his self righteousness with that book that he wrote about the OJ Simpson case. I agree that the golden boy did get away with murder and should have been found guilty but at the beginning of the book the Bug was so unprofessional with the way he said things about OJ that I could read no further. It sounded like a little kid ranting about how he hated somebody.
Bugliosi has become known as somewhat of a conspiracy theorist, paticularly since his book on George W Bush. Hardly anyone would interview him after the book's release.

Bush and his gang knowingly lied to the American people and the UN, knowingly cherry-picked the intelligence and committed the most monstrous war crimes since World War II. They, along with Obama, both Clintons, Bush, Reagan and the Saudis

ReplyDeleteAfter going through that document, I wonder how many of the Family members went along with the Helter Skelter story out of fear of prosecution for other crimes. If he's capable of putting that much time into harassing people and was in a position with that much power, what very young adult wouldn't be scared to death of him?
I guess Bugs' tanacity put the Family away, which is great but it seems to me he lost his way and wigged out in later life. I probably don't need to remind anyone how he acted during the Larry King/ Linda K interview? Like a contril freak, crazy person.
