Brothers Reunited!

Bobby Beausoleil was able to reunite with his old buddy Steve Grogan when they both played for a prison band called "The Freedom Orchestra Band" at Deuel Vocational Institution in Tracy, California. Obviously, this photo was taken sometime in the 70s. Steve Grogan, after a while started distancing himself further, and further away from his past, and eventually wanted nothing to do with anyone associated with "The Family." I suppose that was a pretty good move, since he was released in 1985, and Bobby is still there, growing older by the minute. Very sad, indeed! Check out a clip of them playing:

Gypsy and Country Sue: Racist PIGS!

When the police interviewed Ruby Pearl about the disappearance/murder of Donald Jerome "Shorty" Shea, she told the police about a little incident where Shorty's African American wife went to the ranch, and had sat down in a chair. I guess after she left, Catherine "Gypsy" Share, and Sue "Country Sue" Bartell told the others not to sit in the same chair that Shorty's wife had sat in. WTF? If anything, Shorty's wife should of been afraid to sit in a chair that those two skanks sat in. There is a good possibility that they left unmentionable odors & stains wherever they sat, so who were they to be such jerks? Oh, and Lynn Fromme wasn't any innocent, little elf either, even though she did have an "elf-like" appearance. Just saying.... Ruby Pearl's statement:

On 10-31-70 the undersigned interviewed Ruby Pearl. Miss Pearl stated, "I knew Shorty for approximately ten years. I saw him almost every day. He always told me where he was going. He moved back to the Spahn's Movie Ranch in August of 1969 after splitting from his wife, a colored girl. He brought her to the ranch in the summer of 1969 and it made the hippies mad. Gypsy (Catherine Share) and Sue (Bartell) told everyone in the Manson family not to sit in the same chair that Shorty's wife had sat in after she left. When Shorty returned to the ranch, after splitting from his wife, he brought a box of very pretty dishes, given to him as a wedding gift. Two weeks after his disappearance I went to the ranch and the Manson family was using the dishes. I asked what they were doing with Shorty's dishes and Lynn Fromme said, 'He won't --' and stopped speaking abruptly. Some time late in August I went to Spahn's Movie Ranch about 11:30 P.M. Shorty had been drinking and asked if he could come over to my house and stay because he didn't like being around these weird hippies. I told Shorty I didn't have room at my house for him and got into my car and started to leave, when I observed a blue car pull into the ranch with Charles Manson, Tex Watson, Bill Vance, Bruce Davis and Clem Tufts jumped out of the car very fast and spread out along the boardwalk. I thought it was strange as they never moved very fast. I didn't stop. I continued driving out of the ranch and never saw Shorty again. After Charlie was arrested I went to the County Jail with Dawn Quant to visit Charles Manson. I asked Charlie, 'Where is Shorty's body, Charlie?' We want to bury him properly.' Charlie answered, 'Ask the Black Panthers.' I replied, 'Charlie, you know there haven't been any Black Panthers around the ranch.' Charlie wouldn't talk to me anymore. During the first part of the Tate trial Charlie kept sending notes out through his attorney that he wanted to see me. I want with some attorney to the County Jail again and the first thing Charlie said, 'You know, Pearl, I didn't know Shorty very well.' I answered, 'Charlie, you know given the ranch a black name.' He refused to talk to me any more.

Follow-up to Debra Tate and Don Wilson post

We know most of you are getting bored with this blogs' posts which you feel we present Debra in a negative light but we do want follow up on the last post about Debra.  Since the post ran, Don Wilson's online presence has diminished.  As of this writing he no longer has a Facebook page, a Twitter page, a Pinterest page or a Tumbler page and his LinkedIn page has been revised, too.  Don Wilson is a convicted sex offender, he is posted as such on the State of California Megan's Law website.  His criminal record is available through the LA County Superior Court website.  This is not a case of blog or forum rumors and gossip, it is a fact.

We have an intense dislike for people that harm children physically, sexually or mentally.  We hope that there is a special place in hell for these people.

Debra demonstrated poor judgment by allowing Wilson to speak on her behalf.  She did not exercise due diligence in vetting those that represent her.  If I were a victim's family member I would not want Debra to speak for me. Our opinion is that Debra should back off from calling herself a victims' advocate and focus on keeping the people that were responsible for her sister's murder in prison.  Keep it simple and on point.  Debra has not been an effective victims' advocate, Bruce has been granted parole at his last three hearing in spite of her presence at the last two hearings.

Debra appears to have rectified the situation and has severed any online connection to Don Wilson as far as we can see.  While this should have never happened in the first place we are glad to see that she has the good sense to take action regarding this matter.

The question you can as readers ask yourself as you think about this is, what else was Don Wilson gaining by latching onto what was once a valiant campaign/cause? Was he using it to meet new unsuspecting victims who trust the name Tate and thereby (now) Wilson, to be protected by predators such as himself. Was he ever able to lure an unsuspecting parent to trust him with their child? We'll never know, but I gotta say, I will sleep better knowing that we did whatever we could to expose and shut this guy down and to let him know, we're still watching - so don't fuck up, Don.

Patty has a new hypothesis about the swastikas that came after the exes on Mansonite foreheads. Notice Charlie and Bruce both have clockwise swastikas, like the BEL swastika. Almost like a big "fuck you," no?

Then in the 70's the girls have the reverse swastika that is stylized in the same way as the BEL swastika, but BACKWARDS. Another fuck you? "We are no longer exed out of your society, but we disagree with everything you are, so we are your mirror image."

Thoughts for a rainy day. People, the truth is right under our noses, right over their noses, and always has been. That's Patty's story and she's sticking to it.

Debra Tate and Don Wilson

  

Some who read this blog wonder why we are so hard on Debra Tate.  This post will present just one more reason why we think that Debra Tate disgraces the words Victims' Advocate along with her mother and sisters' memory of victims' advocacy each and every time she uses it as her title.

Don Wilson is an Elvis impersonator, a recording artist, song writer, production consultant and has his fingers in many pies related to the entertainment industry according to his profile page at Linkedin.  At the end of his profile summary he states that he is Debra Tate's assistant.

As recently as this past week Don Wilson has been posting like crazy on his many social networking accounts Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler and Pinterest  about a petition that Debra Tate is circulating to ask Governor Brown to veto Bruce Davis's parole.  With Debra's knowledge and  approval he has asked people to sign this petition and she has publically thanked him for doing so.

Don Wilson is a convicted sex offender.  He plead guilty to two counts out of the 37 counts he was originally charged with involving lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.  He worked out a plea deal which is done in many cases involving children to spare the child the stress and anguish of testifying in court.

The fact that Don Wilson is a registered sex offender is not new news.  He was arrested in 2004 for these crimes and convicted in 2005.  There was plenty of chatter on blogs and forums about him and his association with Debra Tate in both 2005 and 2006 with extensive dialogue.  Debra is not ignorant to his crimes.  What is new is that Debra continues a relationship with this guy by employing him as her assistant and condones him acting on her behalf.

Doris Tate found herself in a similar situation with Bill Nelson.  The difference between Debra and her mother is that Doris ran as fast and far away from Nelson as she could when she learned of Nelson's child molestation conviction and Debra seems to have run directly to Don Wilson offering him an assistant's job and allows him to be a spokesman for her work as a victims advocate.  Where is Debra's compassion for Don Wilson's victim(s)?

I think most people faced with a situation as this would distance themselves from that person and try to surround themselves with people who are above reproach.  Not Debra....

Colonel Scott published a couple of posts about Don Wilson and his sex offender ways back in 2005/6 with some informative comments by his readers.  As usual the Colonel was on top of the story thanks to his contacts at the now defunct Killed The Sixties forum who first revealed Don Wilson as a sex offender.

Manson-type character from Hawaii Five-O 1968

Sitting here watching Netflix, and found a bunch of seasons of the old (and best) Hawaii Five-O shows from 1968 and on. I couldn't believe my eyes when I watched an episode entitled "Up Tight" from Season 1, episode 14. In this episode, young girls are being fed drugs, and getting brainwashed by an older, charming, charismatic dude named "David" who tells the girls that "all is one." He also won't take any of the drugs himself, UNTIL.....Well, won't tell you anymore. You will have to watch it! Sound familiar? The guy who played David in this episode also had dark hair, and a huge unibrow. Of course, there are differences too, like the character being an ex-professor, ala Timothy Leary. Hey, I wonder if Charlie ever watched this episode when it aired in 1968? For those of you who don't have Netflix, it might be on YouTube. I guess there were a lot of "Manson-like dudes" running around all over the place way back then!

Squeaky's Mental Exam Audio Is Released

Last November the Sacramento Bee requested the audio tape of Squeaky Fromme's mental exam that was given after she made the attempted assassination on President Ford.  It was released today.

Cocaine...shhhhhhh

Blogger Cybot once asked:

"How did the drug market develop in Califormia in these times? Did they use cocaine even in the 60s or in the cocaine wave in the 70s?"

Patty has been thinking about this for the longest time. In her not so young life, she has made some interesting contacts, one of which she posited the following question:

P: "Where was most of the coke coming from in Southern California,circa 1969? One place, different places, was it the Mob, or...?

FOB:"Patty, as best I remember, coke in '69 was strictly a rock star thing. By '73 it was starting to hit the scene, and in a way it changed the whole drug scene. Not in a good way, for the most part. It surprised me that people turned away from psychedelics and even pot for its nice but limited appeal. It was more mystique than effects. Who moved it? A big narco network developed, originating in Colombia and Peru,and of course, the CIA when it became a huge moneymaker. But in '69 it was still pretty limited to people who had money to burn."

Now. before Patty asks this question, please know that Patty does not think Jay was a bad guy for liking cocaine. However: what do you all think this means in relation to Jay, whose cocaine was found at Cielo Drive and cleared out of Easton Drive by Jay's staff right quick? Please weigh in!

And The Sea Will Tell

After Vincent Bugliosi left the LA DA's office he went into private practice.  One of his cases was the defense of Stephanie Stearns who along with her boyfriend, Buck Duane Walker, was accused of murdering Mac and Muff Graham on an atoll in the Pacific called Palmyra.  Originally the couple was arrested for stealing the Graham's boat not long after the Graham's had disappeared in 1974.   It was not until the remains of Muff Graham were found in 1981 did the two eventually face murder charges.

The two had separate trials with Walker having a public defender for his attorney.  He was tried first, found guilty of the two murders and sentenced to life in prison.   Stearns came from a more affluent background and her family hired Bugliosi to defend her.  Stearns was acquitted.

Bugliosi wrote the book And the Sea Will Tell after Stearns acquittal.  This book outraged me and I know from having read a few comments at this blog that others here feel the same way.  Any shred of respect I may have had for Bugliosi was completely gone.  His ego absolutely screamed in the book and he was ever so pleased with himself that he was able to win an acquittal for Stearns.

Recently I learned that the remains of Muff Graham were never claimed by her family and have never received a proper burial.  Instead the remains have been at the FBI office in Hawaii and become a quasi teaching tool with Muff's skull being passed around during lectures.  How sad is that?

A retired Los Angeles public defender, Tom Bucy, discovered this while doing research for a book he has written on the Palmyra Atoll murders.  He is now trying to locate Muff's family and return her remains to them.

Stephanie Stearns is currently living in Hawaii.  I found that Buck Duane Walker was granted parole in 2007.  He moved to the small town of Willets in Mendocino County CA.  He died in 2010.  The story of Walker's death and a pretty good summation of the crimes appeared in the Willets newspaper.
