I LOVED Jonas Miller Stereo. I hung there a lot in the late 70s, early 80s. I didn't know that that is where Steven worked. I saw Ray Manzarek there once.Jenn
Hi all. I worked at Jonas Miller Stereo which became Jonas Miller Sound when it moved to the location in Beverly Hills in the 1970's after Steven had been murdered. Steven Parent never worked in the Beverly Hills location and Jonas never mentioned him in the 10+ years we knew each other. Michael
ProfessorMike, have you read this post?
Thanks, Matt. I had not read it, but the info posted re: Jonas Miller Stereo is indeed correct. My tenure at JMS was '78 - '80 and I am on a first name basis with everyone mentioned - Jonas passed away in '95, I think, but I'm in contact with Sinclair, McCormack & Kreisel. I'll do more digging - it's VERY odd that this never came up in conversation - the Manson killings are a pretty big deal.
Show them the post I referred you to. Ask them what they think...
My best friend Jim Trego took me to meet Jonas Miller at the store on Wilshere in the late 70's. I would guess about 77. It was a pleasure to me Jonas. That day Ken Kreisel was there. Him and Jonas were meeting about M&K if I remember. My point here is whether anyone knew Jim Trego. He was the most gentleman in the audio industry and everyone who knew him loved him. He was an audiophile but ended up being the Bose Rep for Calif. and other states near. He was also close friends with Amar Bose. But overall at his house he had lots of high end audio gear. He had the first stereo store in the U.S as far as I heard that was established in 1952.I started Ward Audio in 1977 in Honolulu. I would love to hear if anyone visited my store. My guess is that Professor Mike may have known Jim Trego. Jim had a few high end cable lines and he was the Stanton rep also
