The top pic of the family after church is the classic Freudian disaster pic. Look how Sadie seperates herself away from the rest of the family. She obviously doesn't feel she's a part of them. He brother would rather lean against the car than his mother who stands there like she's the only one in the pic. She has her hand on her hip rather than touch her husband or her son. The hubby keeps his distance from everybody in the family yet he tries at least by reaching out and touching the wife but yet keeps his distance from her as if she might turn him into a newt. Yep that family is totally disfunctional and Sadie was the one most alone of any of them.
Wow. I didn't notice any of that. But body language always suggests what is going on the mind.
After Sadie's mom died her dad got a job that moved them from San Jose to Los Banos, California...Los Banos is basically a farming town in the middle of the central valley in Ca and it is 15 min from my parents house...it was the rival school in sports to my high school... I had been there many times before I read HS and found out that Sadie had been there. I don't know it was just kind of eerie for me.
sometimes it's hard to remember sadie was an innocent child.
