Westchester/Venice

Squeaky's childhood home.

Squeaky penciled her name in the concrete as a young teen.

28 Clubhouse Ave in Venice Beach (the Zero house).

Deb speaking: I Zillow'd the property when we got back to the condo and was shocked to learn it is now valued at $1,609,000. WOW!

The Saladin Nader apartment building (Liz with Max Frost).

The door where they entered.
Sorry, Vincent...

Squeaky's house has had a major makeover in the last 5-10 years (can't remember the last time I was there). I think there's a good pic of the original house in Jess Bravin's book.

I love Venice and all the funky Bohemian people that hang out there. It is one of my favorite places to read about, although my only personal experiences there are not what I wish they could be. I have only gotten to go out there a couple of times and not for very long. I still need to spend some real time out there. Much history of the kind that interests me....

Now that I wonder lol is if it was like in the movie "The Craft"???

when you got off the bus in Venice did the driver warn you guys to be careful of the "weird people"?

and did Liz or someone else look back and tell him "We are the weird people mister"

:)

only in a place like this can you cruise around in a Manson tour t-shirt and not stand out lolol

Great pics!!

Saint, the biggest thing TLB-wise about Venice to me is the relationship of the two buildings we featured here. The Saladin Nader apartment and the "Zero" (Mark Ross) house are literally right around the corner from one another.

These folks liked to terrorize properties that were familiar to them.

Hey Matt- you just said something very important...

I think.

For all of us who keep trying to figure out the connection between Cielo and Waverly as far as a possible combined motive- the only thing we know FOR CERTAIN is that they were familiar with both locations...

when you throw in Gary-

another place they were familiar with...

you have 3 murders which all happened at places they were familiar with, and were all committed by one guy with several women in a similar fashion... Victims tied up and stabbed to death with writing on the walls.

LAPD never saw a connection. Maybe there wasn't one...

But all 3 happened the same way and, as you point out, all happened in places they were familiar with.

does that mean anything ????
