From Bobby Beausoleil's Facebook Page

Hello everyone,

This is proof positive that is it possible to have a heart heavy with sadness and one that is filled with joy inside of a single breath. On October 19th my beloved Barbara Ellen, wife and partner of 31 years, very suddenly and unexpectedly passed from this world.

A shocking event, to say the least. I’m still reeling. One day she was happily planting bulbs in the her garden for flowers that will bloom in the spring, and the following morning her lifeless body was found lying on the floor next to her bed.

In a curious example of synchronicity not uncharacteristic in our relationship, I fell out of my bunk onto the floor of my cell, the only time ever in my life that this has happened, at what was very possibly the moment of her passing. The cause of physical death was subsequently determined to be a cerebral hemorrhage. It was quick, no prolonged suffering, just the sort of way Barbara would have preferred to go when her time came (may we all be so lucky). No muss, no fuss, no lingering illness, no significant debts to be a burden to her family. Just gone. It’s as though she has been stolen from us, as a dear mutual friend aptly put it.

I miss her physical presence in my life, of course, every time something happens that I want to share with her, at least a dozen times a day, and I have to remind myself again that she is no longer here among us. We had a 31-year conversation, probing heart and mind, exploring our humanness while aspiring to the higher levels of wisdom. I will miss that conversation like I will miss her gaze, her touch, her uninhibited laughter, her embrace, her kiss, and even those human foibles and faults that sometimes annoyed and frustrated me. There was never anything about her that could realistically stand in the way of my love for her.

Ours was a relationship founded on sacred ground, and therefore not subject to threat from something as wholly natural, commonplace, and ultimately trivial as death. We only borrow these bodies to play in this world for a time. This is why our relationship held together all these years despite some foolish lapses of dignity and the hardship of my incarceration. But Barbara was so sturdy, I always assumed I would be the one to go first. I’ve been caught off guard, and now I grapple with unaccustomed depths of emotion, mourning the loss of her, while knowing full well that she is not the least bit lost to herself.

Some of you had the good fortune to know Barbara personally; others of you may have known her at some distance, or only about her. In any case, I would like to offer the following words of rememberance, written by Barbara’s son John only days after passing:

“Barbara was, and always will be, a shining example of a how a person can live in peace, harmony and freedom. She gave more than she took, she loved more than she feared, and she nurtured everything and everybody around her. We will remember Barbara as a woman of strength, courage, compassion and wisdom-a true Mother Goddess incarnate, treading softly yet powerfully upon this Earth”.

So, yes, there are some waves of sadness lingering in the spaces where Barbara once lived, since her passing. No one needs to worry that they may draw me into some morose stupor, however. Barbara would have little patience for that sort of thing. Anyway, she would not have left when she did if she had not been sure that I would remain a strength to her children and grandchildren, and I won’t let her down in that regard. She would not have any of us feel sorry for her, or for ourselves. Any why should we? Barbara lived on her own terms and died exactly as she would have wanted to. I salute her for that, and celebrate the wealth of gifts she brought to the world.

In peace,
Bobby

Responses from Sandy Good?

Sun King writes:

I have met White Rabbitt several times and helped him refine his manuscript. In turn he would sell me parts of his own Manson collection, postcards, autographs, CD’s and books.

What I have attached I bought off of Melton and may possibly be a reply from Sandy Good. I also have another one as well. Found it interesting that it is signed Lu Cifer with a bogus Death Valley return address.

[The second one] is the one postmarked from Santa Clarita. [The first one] was postmarked from Trenton NJ. Would appear to be the same person in that they used the Lou Cifer sig and the  Death Valley Return address. Perhaps if you post them someone may lay claim to have written them or perhaps it was Sandy? Note [the second] postcard has lipstick kiss on the address side which is faint in the scan. Could have a DNA test done on it to figure out who it is, LOL!

Has anyone ever seen Sandy's handwriting? Is this hers or just someone with nothing better to do?

Card #1

Card #2

Here's links to something Sandra Good wrote to compare to the handwriting on the cards.  This is posted at Howard Davis's site. He does not always source his material, though. But we think there's a possibility that the notes were written when Good and Murphy were convicted of writing all those letters to corporations and such. Squeaky may have been in on writing those letters, too. Are there other examples of those letters somewhere online independent of what is at Howard's site? Anybody?

Letter from Bobby Beausoliel

The following is a re-creation of a letter that was recently sent to a family member of  Gary Hinman. Re-creation was necessary because many parts were redacted to eliminate personal information. Bobby's words themselves have not been altered.

 ---------------------------------------------

Dear *****

Most of the people who once were associated with Manson have blamed him for their personal predicament. Because I don't blame him for my situation some people may assume I am supportive of him. Nothing could be further from the case I have plenty of reason to resent him for things he has done and instigated, and some of the things that he has said. A man if he is a man holds himself accountable for the things he does in this world. Charlie Manson has yet to own up to betraying the trust of everyone who took a chance on loving him, and to accept the responsibility for the lives he destroyed. I do not sympathize with Manson, nor do I support his philosophy or believe the excuses he makes for the violence he has committed.

Still I won't make excuses for Manson where Gary is concerned. Had he not charged blindly into Gary's house and slashed his face for no reason it's unlikely any further harm would have come to him.

From the moment I made the decision to go to Gary's house and take money from him everything that happened after that was my fault. Even though I had not foreseen that others would unexpectedly get involved and would do things I had no control over. The fact remains that the choice I made initially set all those other thing in motion, so that made me responsible for them as well.

The loss to the world of the gifts Gary brought to it was the worst and most tragic of course. But having to experience again and again the horror of killing him has not been a walk in the park.

Years passed before I could begin to reconcile what I done with the person I thought myself to be and years more before I could fully face myself and accept responsibility for the crime I had committed. Between one point and the other I was dishonest with myself and everyone else about what happened. Most shamefully, I implied or allowed others to infer, that Gary was complicit in the circumstances of his own death. There again was that need to find acceptance in the eyes of others that was a driving factor in how I dealt with what transpired at Gary's house.

It should be clear to you by now that both Gary and I were into some things we would have been wiser to avoid, not least of which was befriending someone as deluded and unscrupulous as Charles Manson. However it would be hypocritical and disingenuous to say that Gary was a drug dealer. The story about the drug burn was just something put into my head by others, and there are plenty of reasons to be suspicious of the story considering its source. Gary wasn't the kind of guy to burn anyone in a drug deal or otherwise. I chose to buy into the story and allowed it to be part of the internal narrative I used to justify my decision to rob him. And later to rationalize some lame reasons for what followed. I deeply regret having taken Gary's life. He did nothing to deserve it.

Sincerely

Bobby

Larry Melton aka The White Rabbit writes to Sandra Good aka Blue

This letter was written by family associate Larry Melton aka "White Rabbit" to Sandra Good aka "Blue" while he was serving time, here in Texas. I think over the years, a lot of people have dismissed this letter as being nothing but fabrication. I am not so sure. Why would he have written such a letter? I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. I think that there is more to this letter than any "Tex" tapes will ever reveal. What do you think? (By the way, I don't want anyone to think I am ripping off other people's "finds", so I will give credit where credit is due. I found this letter on the Zodiac/Manson connection website.) Anyway, here it is:

Helter Skelter In Venice

Back in the early 1900's when Venice California was founded it had a very elaborate boardwalk called Midway Plaisance.  At the main entrance was an attraction called Helter Skelter!  I found an old 1909 postcard at ebay and snagged it.

I have been told that this was not a true Helter Skelter, though the name is clearly painted on the side of the slide in the post card.  A true Helter Skelter has the slide running around and around the outside of the tower that houses the stairway to climb to the top.  The Venice Helter Skelter has the slide shooting out from the top of the tower.

"All that Manson stuff was built around Paul’s song about an English fairground. It has nothing to do with anything. But, I don’t know, what's 'Helter Skelter' got to do with knifing somebody?" – John Lennon

"I was using the symbol of a Helter Skelter as a ride from the top to the bottom, and this was the fall, the demise, the going down." – Paul McCartney

"Helter Skelter means confusion. Literally. Confusion is coming down fast. If you don’t see the confusion coming down fast, you can call it what you wish. It is not my music. Why blame it on me? I didn’t write the music. I am not the person who projected it into your social consciousness." – Charles Manson

I sincerely doubt that anyone in the Manson Family would have known about the attraction in Venice, it's just one of those weird coincidences.

Inner Institution Parole!?!?!

Nuel Emmons who wrote "Manson In his Own Words" worked as a correspondent for the Ukiah Daily Journal mostly writing articles in the sports section on golf.  He was an avid golfer.  Later after his book on Manson came out he had a regular column in the UDJ about the happenings in and around the town of Nice in Lake county where he lived with his family.

This is an article written by Emmons on Manson a few years before the book came out.   It tells of Manson getting a job in prison.  I really got a good chuckle out of the quote from Manson.
