Rob Zombie, Bret Easton Ellis team on Manson Family Series

In something of a curious pairing, director/musician Rob Zombie will team with AMERICAN PSYCHO author Bret Easton Ellis on an upcoming series exploring the infamous Manson Family and their vicious crimes in 1969.

Variety is reporting that the two creators, who both specialize in folks clearly out of their mind (albeit with very different aesthetics), are in early development at Fox on the series which “aims to tell converging stories of people and events leading up to and after the murders, from shifting points of view.”

Manson, of course is notorious for leading a sort of commune and forming the Manson Family, which turned murderous in 1969 and resulted in the deaths of seven people, actress Sharon Tate included. Since the arrests and convictions, his story has endlessly attracted fascination and inspired a host of art. Perhaps unsurprisingly (his HALLOWEEN II has quite the large image of Manson on a wall) Zombie counts himself among the intrigued. He says, “I have been obsessed with this insane story since I was a kid, so obviously I jumped at the chance to be involved in this incredible project. After speaking with Bret, I immediately realized that we shared the same vision for this epic madness.”

The Ellis/Zombie Manson series is still quite a ways off. Keep an eye on Fango for more as it develops.

The Manson film industry is getting kind of Zombistical.

Last night I looked to see what the other networks were going to compete against the Oscars with, and NBC chose a two hour Dateline "Survivors of the Westgate Mall Attack"

Anyone even remember the Westgate Mall incident? What it is was about or what state / city it was in?

NOW, anyone remember the name Charles Manson or the Tate / LaBianca Massacre?

MANSON TV series? Not a bad idea. How come I didn't think of that?

As Matt knows I have been having a lot of trouble with film "pirates" and others trying to destroy my MANSON Media (dvd) sales. Now they are even selling DVDs with my personalized covers.Of course those are not only counterfeit, but are considered 'forged,"
Now, a decade after the eBay and Amazon lawsuits, documents and stories are all over the internet concerning those lawsuits, and of course, they reveal the real and TRUE names of those who sold "counterfeit" MANSON DVDs. College courses even use these documents to teach the DMCA legal lessons, BUT now the real lesson may be: Everything once on the internet, may STAY on the internet - FOREVER ! That means IF a prospective EMPLOYER, loan officer, or anyone else can have YOU pegged as an illegal INFRINGER.

TALK about KARMA !

AND yes, I already have a 5 hour MANSON mini-series - that only needs narration and sound effects to go up against FOX's planned Manson show. That's how show-business really works.

I have very, seriously low expectations for this project so no disappointment. I would imagine that these guys wouldn't let facts get in the way of sensationalizing for shock value and ratings. Right?

Hard NEWS: But which one is worthy of a MOVIE

* The Pope drops the "F" bomb !

* Girl sues her parents over $$$ tution !

* Obama gifts Ukraine One BILLION dollars !

* Young Girl works at McDonalds to save-up enough $$$ for a wedding dress to mary "The Most Dangerous Man Alive" - a half century her senior. !

THEN:
Look up "Fremantle Media MANSON"

One of the most $$ successful $$ International Media empires on the planet (American Idol, America's Got Talent) and the2009 poster for their "MANSON" movie in Austrailia shows the murder CAR transportation as a make and model that wasn't even created until much later AFTER the Tate / La Bianca massacre.

You see, in the movie business, the girl at McDonalds story, could actually be the next
"Love Story."
