Some time ago when Farflung sent Eviliz.com a copy of the Stockton Murders police report, Patty filed away in her mental cabinet some ideas for future posts. Through the magic of Google Earth, she did not have to actually drive from Ballarat to Stockton to show you how close together the West Flora Street house, the liquor store that Goucher and Monfort robbed on 10/30/72, and the liquor store where Squeaky was arrested after calling West Flora to be picked up on 11/12/72 actually are:
The scale of the above map indicates that all three places are within a mile of one another, marker "C" being the West Flora house (you have seen it before, so no photo). Marker "A" is where the Eden Square Liquor Store used to be located at 929 North El Dorado. Monfort and Goucher were apprehended for robbing it, and as you know Monfort was using James Willett's ID which tied them to Willett's murder some weeks earlier near Guerneville. Today it appears to be a church or a worship center of some kind:
Most puzzling to Patty is marker "B", the B&E Liquor store at 939 North Yosemite Street, which is still there today. As you can see in the first image above, B&E is a mere five blocks from the West Flora Street house. Why did Lynette need a ride, then? And why did she tell someone whom she did not know (i.e., "Earl" the police officer) where to find her?

Mother of Manson love child: Set my Charlie free
THE MOTHER of Charles Manson’s
secret love child vows to fight for the helter-skelter madman until
prison officials see what she calls “the error of their ways” – and
release him from prison for good!
“I won’t rest until Charles is a free man,” Sister
Margaret Peers told me exclusively. The nun claims she trysted with
Manson just days before his arrest in 1969 and then gave birth to a
daughter while his trial for the murders of actress Sharon Tate and six
other people was in full swing.
“I’m not saying he isn’t guilty,” she continued in
telephone interview from her apartment in Los Angeles. “I’m saying he’s
been punished enough. It’s time to let bygones be bygones.
“Even Charlie Manson deserves a chance to connect
with the daughter he’s never met. She‘s a respected doctor and she very
much wants to bond with her dad.”
Sister Margaret, 61, says she entered a convent five

The Netflix Companion: Will You Kill For Me?
Currently streamable on Netflix is this 2008 NBC Documentary with The Bug, Catherine Share, Dr. David Smith, Linda Deutsch and Dr. Jack Levin. Patty will remind you that Dr. Smith is the founder of the Haight Street Free Clinic. Linda Deutsch was an AP correspondent who has covered the case since the beginning, and Dr. Levin is a criminologist from Northeastern University who kind of set the tone for a well-balanced (albeit entry level) treatment of the subject:
"I think we have to look beyond the label of monster, crazy, insane. We have to try to understand the entire situation, the circumstances...how the counter culture arose during the 1960's...some of the characteristics of those people who followed Manson and actually carried out the murders, and finally, we have to understand Manson as a human."
Dr. Levin is a man after Patty's own heart. He is balanced in his approach to whether or not the Family was brainwashed, and whether or not Charlie truly ordered the crimes. He does not take sides nor jump to conclusions. He states that "we may never know," but that certainly, it could and most likely will happen again. His interview is in sharp contrast to that of The Bug, who gives us his same old Helter Skelter dog-and-pony freak show.
What may be interesting to The Evilist are the interviews and some of the news footage, including original NBC national coverage with David Brinkley. What may be annoying to you are the goofy "reenactment" scenes. In some places, they make no sense while in others, they're absolutely wrong. For instance, both Sharon and Gibby are wearing long white nightgowns when we know Sharon was in bikini underwear. In other scenes, the criminals and victims just kind of stare at each other in a kind of time warp while the canned spooky, discordant music plays.
Eh...what the heck. It entertained, and IMDB gave it a solid 6.4.

Manson Family Remixes
Point being that despite all the creepiness there’s a genuine warmth in their demo tapes. Everything is totally untouched production wise and reeks of ominous euphoria. We sent these tapes to a handful of our favourite up and coming producers, DJs and bands and asked them to have a fiddle around to see what they could come up with. Here’s the results in all their messianic, homicidal glory.

I have an etymological question: Do you think "creepy-crawl" was coined by Manson and entered into the vernacular through BUG's book, etc., or is there evidence the phrase pre-dates Manson?
