Catherine Gillies

Some little known facts about "Cappy" (Catherine Gillies):
An "extremely" reliable source tells us that she is still upset she was not chosen to go out on the murders. She said she supports her brothers and sisters in prison. She makes a very passionate argument that the murders were the right thing to do for those times.

Signs her name "Silver". We don't know if that is an "Order of the Rainbow" name or not.

Another source who communicates with her says, "Cathy doesn't put down anyone or say mean things about anyone. She is a very pleasant person. Sure she'll tell funny stories about folks but will not make mean comments".

Thora Birch dropped from Manson Girls movie

Thora Birch is dropped from Susanna Lo's thriller biopic of Manson follower Sandra Good. Director Susanna Lo tells us that Birch's father/manager, Jack Birch, has caused a ruckus in the production and Thora will pay the price by getting ousted from the much-coveted role of Sandra Good in the film Manson Girls. "Thora is a great actress," says Lo, "but there have been several problems with her father/manager that it is dificult to work things out in an ensemble cast situation where everything needs to be balanced and fair to the whole cast. You can quote me on that. On Wednesday, January 5, you will see a fresh breakdown go out recasting the role of Sandra Good, which Thora was originally set to play ."Thanks, Dad! Dad Jack is an ex porn star (he and Birch’s mother, Carol Connors, were both in Deep Throat) and he's a fucking creep, according to accounts of his assholism on the set of Thora's 2008 thriller Winter of Frozen Dreams. Now she's fired from Manson Girls, which sounded like a perfect vehicle for Birch's downbeat sensuality and intense ability. But Daddy had to screw it up by being a jerkwad.

Sugar Daddy Manny

Poor old Manny! 66 year old Harold "Manny" Boro was Squeaky's sugar daddy during her Sacramento days in much the same way that George Spanh had been in Chatsworth. It is said that Squeaky "had a way with" older men, so when she met Manny on a park bench in 1975, the poor old coot fell hopelessly in love with her and showered her with gifts including an old station wagon and the colt .45 that she'd point at President Ford on September 5, 1975.

Manny lived, according to Jess Bravin's book, "at the end of Laughton Lane" in Jackson, CA. Jackson is a small gold rush community in the foothills about an hour's drive from Sacramento. Below is his historic home on what was once a 40-acre ranch:

This Day in Manson History - Zero Dies

On November 5, 1969, John Phillip Haught died mysteriously after being shot in the head at the 28 Clubhouse in Venice, California. It was reported to be suicide (Russian Roulette), or perhaps he was murdered for knowing too much and talking too much to authorities. If you believe some people he just wanted to see what it was like to experience death and orgasm at the same time.

Fellow Family members, Bruce Davis (whose prints were on the gun) Catherine Gillies, Sue Bartell, and Little Patty were with him at the time of his death.

On April 29 of this year Ken posted this photo of 28 Clubhouse and more:
To view the others, follow this link:

This residence is less than 1 block from the apartment in Venice where Saladin Nader lived.

A READER WRITES:
Am I missing something; this is the second time you've pointed out Mark Ross's house and Zero's death and there's almost no interest. Isn't this supposed to be a website/blog where people go because they want to learn more about the Manson Family and the Tate/LaBianca massacre? Right from his book Helter Skelter Bugliosi writes: "On the night of Wednesday, November 5, a young man who might have been able to provide a solution to the Tate-LaBianca homicides ceased to exist. "Clue!" CEASED TO EXIST" Because Mark was an actor like Nader, I'm sure Mr. "B" was also taken by Linda's "piggy" remark concerning actors. Acting and Helter Skelter: now there's a thought.

This is for Heidi Willett...

On February 5, Liz posted photos of  "Lauren & Heidi Willet with Frenemies". You can re-read it here:
 http://www.eviliz.com/2011/02/lauren-heidi-willet-with-frenemies.html

Last night Cece, who knew the Willets and stayed in a nearby cabin at the Russian River resort posted the following message for Heidi. First-hand insight - the kind of stuff that makes this blog so worth it. Thank you, Cece. We hope Heidi still reads regularly.
This is for Heidi Willett...

Heidi, I met both your mother and father while living next door to them in one of the cabins at the resort up in Guerneville, which were the cabins right on the banks of the Russian River.
I never in a million years would have suspected that they were part of a robbery gang, they seemed like such a loving couple.

Your mom used to carry you around in her arms and you were getting pretty heavy, so I gave her my baby backpack since I was using a new stroller instead for my little girl who was too heavy to be carried in a backpack.

Your mom was very shy and looked quite frightened most of the times I saw her and wouldn't talk with me. Your dad seemed so nice and loving to her and you that I couldn't figure out why she looked so worried. Now I know.

Your dad was a very friendly person, calm, easy going and was very kind to my elementary school age son and loved to take him catfishing at night on the river. My son adored your father and never had a bad word to say about him. They caught catfish using a lantern and I had to learn how to cook the one my son brought home. Shake'N'Bake for fish did the trick.

I was living up there with my two young children and my friend who I had met through my religion, the Baha'i Faith. We used to hold Baha'i meetings in our cabin on Saturday nights and sometimes your dad would ask if he could come in and listen to what we were talking about.

He wouldn't come into the main room where we were all sitting around, instead he would sit out in the kitchen at our wooden picnic table and listen all by himself.

One night when he was sitting there listening, we heard someone pounding on our door, opened it and were startled to see "Spider" Craig holding a large commercial size mayonaise jar full of Tarantulas. "Spider" looked past us at your dad and then said "here's a present for you girls." We said "no thank you", he turned away smiling and we closed the door.

We didn't even know "Spider" knew your father. We had just heard some really scary stories about "Spider's" violent behavior around town, so we tried to steer clear of him.

A few days later we heard that your dad's body was found. And then later that your mother's body was found in Stockton. My friends and I were very sad about this, but my young son was very upset.

One night shortly after your parents' deaths my friend and I decided to say prayers for your mom and dad. After we were done, I asked my friend what she thought they were thinking because I had some feelings that I wanted to verify. She said that she felt at first that they were both annoyed and mad at us for praying, that they felt we didn't know them well enough to pray for them, but then as we continued to say prayers out loud for them, they became calm and then happy and grateful we were praying for them.

Those was exactly the same feelings I picked up while saying the prayers...anger, then calming down then gratitude.

I certainly hope both your parents are blessed and can rest in peace.

I've always wondered if perhaps your dad's contact with my Baha'i friends caused him to try and back out of the robbery gang. That makes me sad to think this but at the same time happy that perhaps he and your mom are blessed because of what he attempted to do to protect you and your mom.

Wishing you every happiness and peace Heidi...you were a darling, sweet-faced baby girl and very loved by both your parents.

Cece

eviliz rants because she can

It seems the same force that held back the Family from reaching Paul Crocket, Brooks and Watkins is holding me back from the blog. First I had to move to a new lair. It took them two weeks to hook up the internet. Next was my 29th birthday which fell on a Tuesday meaning the partying commenced the Friday before as to get an entire week of celebrating. Then- I had to take care of that "issue" in Libya which turned into us staying a week longer than planned for the festivities. Last Sunday night came freak autumn blizzard "Alfred" complete with thunder and lightning. I do like my snow storms like my men- six to eight inches expected, but we received 18 inches of wet perfect for snowballs snow. Trees and power lines are down. Roads are closed. 98% of CT is still without power. We ran out of gasoline. You have to drive 50 miles if you want gas. All the grocery stores are closed, what few are open have empty shelves.

I am fortunate enough to be in the 2% with power. No heat, just power. Which means, my two couches have friends spending the night on them. My recliner has two small children reclining on it for the evening. My friends daughter is bunking with my daughter. But everyone brought electric space heaters. The freezer is full of friends meat and one box of popsicles that I am slowly emptying. Most of my day was spent shuttling friends in and out to do laundry or shower and charge cell phones. I have closets and a laundry room about the same size as small bedrooms. I also have a dog that will not tolerate any other animals in her house, not even a goldfish. Currently residing in my laundry room are two parakeets which belongs to one of the couch sleepers. In my bedroom closet is a Cockatiel named Elvis. He belongs to a friend of a friends sister and came with more instructions than a new born baby. He arrived with a blanket to cover his cage just a certain way so he can see out. Elvis also came with his own special space heater. How he slipped through I don't even know at this point. I keep getting up every five minutes to make sure the space heater does not catch Elvis' blanket on fire.
And, pacing from the laundry room to my bedroom is my dog, hoping to have fowl for dinner. Sounds like a great nights sleep is in store for me.

We did suffer one fatality. The front bumper of the VW. Last winter I started the tradition of barreling through snow mounds and tearing off the front bumper. I wonder how many times a bumper can be reattached? Oh, and they postponed Halloween. Something about no street lights and downed power lines.

BUT~As always, when Mamma Eviliz is away she brings back a present for everyone. After Libya it was a recent pic of Kitty. Check out what I brought you all back this time in the post
below.
