Ex Manson Follower's Legal Manuevers Cause LAPD Delay

Police believe the recordings between Charles "Tex" Watson and his attorney could hold clues to unsolved murders

Imprisoned killer and former Manson follower Charles "Tex" Watson has not yet found a judge to agree with him. But his ongoing pursuit of legal channels has convinced Los Angeles Police to postpone a mission to get hold of long unheard audio tapes Watson does not want released.
The recordings were made by Watson's then-lawyer after Watson's arrest in connection with the horrific TatLaBianca murders that rocked Los Angeles in August 1969. Police believe the recordings contain information about additional, as yet unsolved murders committed by the infamous murder cult of Charles Manson.

Watson denied this in a legal filing opposing LAPD gaining possession of the tapes. Watson did not object to LAPD detectives being allowed to listen to the tapes in the presence of some kind of court monitor, but LAPD maintains that is not adequate for a proper investigation.

The tapes had been held for decades by Watson's former attorney Bill Boyd.

Following Boyd's death three years ago in Texas, the tapes passed to the custody of a bankruptcy trustee. After LAPD became aware of the situation, it contacted the Eastern Texas Bankruptcy Court, and last month obtained a court order for the tapes.

The order took effect Thursday amid a flurry of legal motions.

A motion signed by Watson himself to stop the transfer was denied Wednesday by Bankruptcy Judge Brenda T. Rhoades. Attorney Kelly Puls filed another motion that same day, and amended it Thursday. It too has been denied.

LAPD had been planning to send two detectives to pick up the tapes, but with word that Watson will appeal to another federal court, the department has decided to hold off, according to LAPD Commander Andrew Smith.

The department is now hoping to obtain the tapes sometime next week.

The Brotherhood of Eternal Love

Patty has been spending some down time reading about the Brotherhood of Eternal Love which was made up of a group of friends who went to high school in Anaheim, CA and later settled in Laguna Beach (and beyond). They originally started out as a pseudo-religious organization and later morphed into a huge drug smuggling network responsible for the creation and distribution of a potent form of LSD called "Orange Sunshine," a strain of pot known as "Maui Wowie" and most of the Afghani hashish to be found in the US during the 1960's and 70's.

There are two excellent books on the topic which Patty has just finished: "Orange Sunshine" by Nicholas Schou and "The Brotherhood of Eternal Love (From Flower Power to Hippie Mafia: The Story of the LSD Counterculture) by Stewart Tendler and David May.

Patty finished the former first, and attempted to contact Mr. Schou at the OC Weekly where he is currently the managing editor. These are some of the questions that Patty posed to him:

1) BEL founder John Griggs died on August 3, 1969 in the only ever documented psilocybin overdose. The only one, EVER. Does that seem weird to you? Could someone have possibly been "cleaning house?"

2) In 1966, Griggs relieved a "famous producer" at gunpoint of his stash of LSD right in the middle of a dinner party. Who was that producer?

3) On pages 9 and 174, you mention the Charles Manson Family, and then back off again. Why? Do you think that Manson may have become involved with the BEL organization in San Francisco while eating at the Living Room soup kitchen?

Patty to date has received no reply from Schou.

But wait...there's more...

Trona, armpit of America

As you may recall the Eviliz tour did stop in Trona. We only stopped long enough to photograph what was left of TJ's house and that was long enough for me. This town is a DUMP. It smells bad and nearly everything is either abandoned or boarded-up. It was however a long-term home to more than one Family member...

LAPD to receive "Tex Tapes" this Friday

Judge declines to reverse order giving Manson follower tapes to police

By Michael Martinez and Michael Cary, CNN
updated 9:32 PM EDT, Wed June 13, 2012
(CNN) -- A federal bankruptcy judge in Texas on Wednesday rejected a request by imprisoned Charles Manson follower Charles D. "Tex" Watson not to turn over personal tape recordings to Los Angeles police.
"To the extent Watson seeks a remedy regarding the LAPD's use of the recordings, or to prevent their release to the media, such matters are governed by nonbankruptcy law and can be addressed to a court of competent jurisdiction," Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Brenda T. Rhoades wrote in her ruling.

In the meantime, Los Angeles police plan to pick up the tapes on Friday, spokesman Cmdr. Andrew Smith told CNN.

Illness postpones parole hearing for former Manson family member Bruce Davis

LOS ANGELES - A parole hearing for former Charles Manson follower Bruce Davis has been postponed.
Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira says Davis showed up for Wednesday's hearing in San Luis Obispo but said he didn't feel well.
He was examined at a clinic in the California Men's Colony and sent back, but still complained of illness and parole commissioners said it was necessary to postpone.
Davis is serving life sentences for two 1969 slayings, although he was not involved in the infamous murders by Manson followers of actress Sharon Tate and six others in Los Angeles.
A parole board determined in 2010 that he was ready for release but then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reversed the decision.
Wednesday would have been his 27th parole hearing.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information.

Tex Watson Says No Clues on Tapes

Watson asked that the investigators be allowed to listen to the tapes, but not be given the cassette recordings. Watson said there is no evidence of any unsolved murders on the tapes as the detectives said in their motion to get the tapes.

In a motion to the court, Watson said if the LAPD took possession of the tapes they could end up being released to the media which could cause further pain for the families of the Manson victims.

Stockton, NOW

Some time ago when Farflung sent Eviliz.com a copy of the Stockton Murders police report, Patty filed away in her mental cabinet some ideas for future posts. Through the magic of Google Earth, she did not have to actually drive from Ballarat to Stockton to show you how close together the West Flora Street house, the liquor store that Goucher and Monfort robbed on 10/30/72, and the liquor store where Squeaky was arrested after calling West Flora to be picked up on 11/12/72 actually are:

The scale of the above map indicates that all three places are within a mile of one another, marker "C" being the West Flora house (you have seen it before, so no photo). Marker "A" is where the Eden Square Liquor Store used to be located at 929 North El Dorado. Monfort and Goucher were apprehended for robbing it, and as you know Monfort was using James Willett's ID which tied them to Willett's murder some weeks earlier near Guerneville. Today it appears to be a church or a worship center of some kind:

Most puzzling to Patty is marker "B", the B&E Liquor store at 939 North Yosemite Street, which is still there today. As you can see in the first image above, B&E is a mere five blocks from the West Flora Street house. Why did Lynette need a ride, then? And why did she tell someone whom she did not know (i.e., "Earl" the police officer) where to find her?

Dang it Farf, the more questions you answer for us, the more questions Patty has to ask! This could keep her busy until she is a very old woman...WOOT!

Devil in the Details. They play no games.

…One of Nicky Minaj’s widely mass media cerebrated alter MPD personalities is ROMAN ZOLANSKI.  It is actually ABC’s  The View-Whoopi Goldberg’s friend and her former boyfriend’s Satanic Mentor,  ROMAN POLANSKIi, the Devil in the Details. They play no games...

…POLANSKI’s old Polish friend, Wojciech Frykowski, and Jay Sebring were involved in the Beverly Hills/Los Angeles drug trade linked to the Canadian Mob through the infamous French Connection. POLANSKI’s inner circle regularly supplied Tex and Manson Family with drugs, which included “Orange Sunshine” LSD….

…Orange Sunshine was primarily manufactured and distributed by a group known as “The Brotherhood of Eternal Love” who operated out of a beach resort near Los Angeles. One of the Brotherhood’s major drug manufacturers and dealers was Ronald Hadley Stark of New York. The Brotherhood was controlled by Ronald Stark, whom an Italian High Court concluded had been a CIA agent since 1960. The Brotherhood’s funds were channeled through Castle Bank in the Bahamas, a known CIA “proprietary.”  Stark had been secretly attached to a CIA project later to be revealed as MK ULTRA….

…The Polanski Satanic Cult, Manson Family and the Sharon Tate sacrifices were secret projects of the Lookout Mountain Laboratory. For decades, the mountains and canyons, particularly Laurel Canyon, overlooking Hollywood hid a lot of things even outlaws of Wild-Wild West and racialist “White Knights” to a complete $4 million pre WWII Nazi Compound and Fort.[41] Hidden in a valley in Laurel Canyon on Wonderland Park Avenue during the 1960s was a Top-Secret U.S. Military propaganda machine, Lookup Mountain Laboratory…

Excellent article on the matter on cielodrive.com
